FFC PHT Series Gasket Plate Heat Exchangers

FFC PHT Series Gasket Plate Heat Exchangers consist of a series of thin corrugated plates hung from a carrying bar and clamped between a fixed and movable head plate. The corrugated plates or heat transfer plates are normally stainless steel or other materials ductile enough to allow pressing. Each heat transfer plate is fitted with an elastomeric gasket, partly to seal and partly to distribute the process fluids. Connections in the fixed or movable head plates permit the entry of the process fluids into the plate pack. The frame consists of a fixed frame plate, a movable pressure plate, an upper carrying bar, a lower guiding bar, a support column and tightening bolts with nuts.

The corrugation of the plates provide a passage between the plates that supports each plate against the adjacent one and enhances the turbulence, resulting in efficient heat transfer. The plates have a chevron pattern for maximum strength at high working pressures. The plates are reversible and have parallel flow, which means only one type of plate is needed. The optimized plate design requires less heat transfer surface area for the same capacity and brings about a lasting reduction of investment costs. New installation and gasket technologies make maintenance easier and ensure a perfect fit of the gasket and plate pack. The wide range of lengths and profiles available guarantees a design tailored to the exact needs of our customers. The plates are supplied with glue-free Clip-On gaskets, which are easy to replace even with the plates still hanging in the frame. No tools are needed to replace the gaskets.
